
| Angelo Cicco is a native of Northwest Indiana. He has been playing guitar for 16 years and been a professional musician for over 10 years. He has a background in piano and is proficient in other instruments such as bass, drums and vocals. He has received formal training in music theory, composition and sight reading from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and Columbia College of Chicago. Angelo has played with many of the regions top bands and shared the stage with many national acts such as Blues Traveler, Collective Soul, Smash Mouth, and The Smithereens. His versatility and vast song repertoire have made him a much sought after sideman for many local bands. He has played lead guitar for numerous local bands such as The Crawpuppies, Nicole Jamrose, White Dove, Triple Dos, Nick Danger, Takabite, and History's End. Angelo also performs solo acoustic shows on a regular basis. He is popular for doing many requests and performing a wide variety of music. His vast musical repertoire enables him to perform many styles from rock, country, r&b, oldies, classic rock, reggae, rap, and one hit wonders from the 50's to current. After years of being a sideman, Angelo has taken a lead role with his new cover band, an energetic trio known as The Unit, featuring bass wizard Buddy Pearson, and rhythm machine,Bill Romer. The Unit performs Thursday nights and weekends. All Unit shows are unique in the sense that the band will take any request and cover all styles of music. Angelo is also a professional music instructor. He has been an employee of Front Porch Music for nearly 10 years. He is one of the top teachers at Front Porch Music, having carried a student load of over 40 students a week, teaching all styles from beginners to advanced. Recently, Angelo has written the teaching curriculum for the store, providing guidelines for teachers and a structure for the lesson program. Angelo has also taught the highly popular Garage Band 101 class offered at Front Porch Music. Garage Band 101 is a class that teaches students how to perform together in a band. Focusing on the intricacies of performance, the class has been wildly successful in furthering the progress of music students. Some of Angelo's biggest musical influences include Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Grant Green, Django Reinhart, Hiram Bullock, Jaco Pastorius, George Benson, John Scofield, Charlie Hunter, Stevie Wonder, and Donald Fagen. |
